Locating Someone in France
Unfortunately, the Embassy of France does not maintain records of private individuals in France. We recommend that you use a search engine such as: www.pagesjaunes.fr.
Conducting Ancestry Research
If you know the specific town and/or region where the person in question resided or was born, the best option would be to contact the town’s "Mairie" (Town Hall), which would be in a better position to provide more specific information on this subject.
Most Mairies have websites containing their contact information. If you are having trouble finding a specific Mairie, we suggest using a search engine such as www.pagesblanches.fr.
