Fighting proliferation, promoting arms control and disarmament
With the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference taking place in New York from 2 to 27 May 2005, France wanted to draw up a progress report on her contribution to fighting proliferation and promoting arms control and disarmament. The relevant paper , with a foreword by President Chirac, was drawn up by the Permanent Secretariat for National Defence and the Defence and Foreign Ministries, with the participation of the French Atomic Energy Commission. It reviews the measures France has taken over the past few years and sets out her priorities.
