Ambassador Jean-David Levitte to be given the King Legacy Award for International Service 2004.

Paris, Washington 15, 2004

 

On Sunday, January 18, 2004, His Excellency Jean-David Levitte, Ambassador of France to the United States will receive the King Legacy Award for International Service.

The Internationale Salute has been held annually since 1992 as a way of sharing Dr. King's historic work at home and abroad. In so doing, it brings together a broad segment of the national/international communities to reinforce the importance of continuing the work begun by Dr. King.

In tribute to the legacy of Dr. King, each year the committee recognizes the leadership and contributions of individuals and groups that have positively impacted the national and international communities. The King Legacy Award is presented for service at both the national and international levels and the Dorothy I. Height Award is presented for extraordinary leadership.

The 13th Annual International Salute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in Washington, DC, beginning at 9 :00 am.
