Guantanamo

Four French nationals handed over to France in Guantanamo bay - Communiqué issued by the Foreign Ministry.

Paris, July 27, 2004

Following discussions between France and the United States regarding the French nationals detained in Guantanamo, American authorities have decided to hand over four detainees to France on the Guantanamo military base. They are arriving in France today.

We are carrying on discussions with American authorities in order to obtain, as soon as possible, the release of the French detainees remaining in Guantanamo.
