TERRORIST ATTACKS IN TURKEY

Message of condolence from Jacques Chirac, President of the Republic to Ahmet Necdet Sezer, President of Turkey

Paris, November 20, 2003

President Sezer,

I am appalled by the terrorist violence which has once again just struck your country.

My personal sympathy and France's feelings of solidarity go to the victims' families and loved-ones, to whom I ask you to convey my heartfelt condolences.

In these particularly painful circumstances, I want to tell you that France is at your side in the ordeal Turkey is suffering. You may be assured of our wholehearted support in the unremitting efforts you are deploying in the fight against terrorism.

(complimentary close)

With my indignation and solidarity in this tragic ordeal./.
