The French Customs Automated Clearance System, know as "SOFI" (Système d’Ordinateurs pour le traitement du Fret International), is a state-of-the-art computerized system accessible from a simple PC equipped with a connection kit to the central system.

All the particulars of your declaration are transmitted electronically to Customs. The system carries out automatic checks of the validity of the data transmitted, of the applicable rules and regulations, advises of the missing supporting documentation as the case may be, and assesses the amount of duties and taxes due.

You may use SOFI:

• through a personal subscription with your local Customs office, if the amount of your activity is deemed sufficient;
• or via a Collective Customs Clearance Unit ("Unité banalisée de dédouanement"), in return for the payment of a user’s fee.
