The French Defense Minister visited Washington, on January 30 & 31.

During his visit, Mr Hervé Morin met with Robert Gates, US Secretary of Defense, Condoleeza Rice, US Secretary of State, William Cohen, former Defense Secretary in the Clinton Administration, and Stephen Adley, National Security Advisor. He also met with a few senators, and presented the French Legion of Honor to General Casey (Army chief of staff) and two World War II veterans.

At Arlington National Cemetery, he laid a wreath at the Tom of the Unknow Soldier.

This meetings with US officials, journalists, think tanks experts gave him a chance to discuss current issues like Aghanistan, Iran, and the European defense and France’s relationship with NATO.
